What is at stake in Makmak's fight against Lance?
A lot. GMA's clip from the episode says Makmak, played by Anton Vinzon, has to win his match against Lance, played by Bruce Roeland, for De Leon Management to buy his contract. Last episode, Nonoy found this new management willing to take Makmak away from Olivares, so this fight is basically his ticket out.
Why would Makmak lose on purpose?
Because of Chloe, played by Chanty Videla. After learning about Chloe's travel plans, Makmak told Caloy, played by Wendell Ramos, that he is willing to lose to Lance in order to stop her. GMA's Part 1 clip says it plainly: Makmak is ready to lose so Chloe will not leave the country. How losing the fight keeps her here, the descriptions do not explain yet, but the sacrifice is clear.
How did Lance react?
Lance came in cocky. He faced Makmak with a lot of swagger, confident that he can beat him. After last episode, where Lance got mad that Caloy told Makmak to lose, you can tell Lance really wants a real fight. Makmak also got plenty of support from the people around him before the big match.
What was the rest of the drama?
Jolly, played by Therese Malvar, gave Chloe some advice about where things stand between her and Makmak. And Ador, played by Christian Kimp Atip, saw Brandon, played by David Domanais, together with Zeus, played by Ahron Villena, at a restaurant. That led to a heated exchange between Ador and Brandon. Ay, may bagong selosan na naman.
Why does this episode matter?
Makmak is stuck between his career and his heart. Winning could free him from Caloy, while losing might keep Chloe close. Ang hirap pumili, and a lot of us have been there in some way.
