Working with a friend sounds fun until you are on set and the deadline is tomorrow. Direk Rodina Singh and Sassa Gurl found that out while making their movie, and they are laughing about it now.

Sassa Gurl is the lead star and a producer of Multwoh, and she admitted that she and Rodina had creative differences while making the film. Rodina explained why it was so tricky:
Hindi lang niya ako basta direktor, manager niya ako, tropa pa niya ako. So, andaming layers.
She said the movie tested their friendship, but they came out okay:
Talagang tinest nung pelikulang ito yung friendship at yung relationship namin. Na in the end naman, we came back stronger.
The funniest part is that after all these years, they had never fought before. Rodina said Sassa told her, "Finally nag-away na tayo!"
What did they argue about?
Rodina said it was "many things." One example she gave was the way they each handle conflict. She said she is usually confrontational, but with someone close, she did not want to confront. Sassa noticed and asked why she gives attention to people she is not close to when angry, but avoids her. Rodina admitted she did not know how to confront a close friend, and was afraid the fight would be too big to get over. She said she chose to believe that if the friendship was real, they would get through it.
Who is in Multwoh: Patay na Patay sa 'Yo?
The film is directed by Rodina and stars Sassa Gurl and Joao Constancia. It is a queer supernatural comedy drama, and one of the films in the 3rd Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival. Sassa Gurl is nominated for Best Actress, and her only rival in that category is Xyriel Manabat (Stuck On You).

Rodina said Martin del Rosario was the first and only one to say yes when they offered the role, and he starred in the teaser. But once the film got into the festival, his schedule clashed with a series he was in. Joao, who was always part of her list, took over. She told him one thing:
Please don't make me hate you.
She said Joao went beyond what she expected in talent, commitment and emotion.

Puregold CinePanalo 2026 runs from September 23 to October 4 in select cinemas. Regular tickets are PHP250, and PHP200 for PWD, senior citizens, students, national athletes and Aling Puring cardholders. The awards night is on September 30.
