The poll came from News5, which asked its followers: "Pabor ka bang i-ban ang Facebook sa Pilipinas?" Yasmien reshared it on September 19 and added a caption over the graphic. She did not pick a side. She just imagined what would happen if the idea became real:
Nako baka dito pa magka-rally ng malala hahahaha! Mauuna ang mga seniors 🤣 char. Joke lang po
Translation: a serious rally might break out, and the seniors would be first in line. Then she quickly added that it was only a joke.

No. On August 28, Philstar reported that the Palace said there is no Facebook ban for now. Palace press officer Claire Castro was quoted as saying the government was still open to banning Facebook and gaming apps because of concerns over disinformation and violence, but also that Facebook has been responsive to the government's requests.
Rappler also fact-checked a viral claim that a nationwide Facebook ban would start on September 10. It found no official announcement or credible report to back it up. As of writing, we have not seen any announcement of a ban.
Why did the joke land with so many people?
Because Facebook is not just an app for us. It is where the family group chat lives, where lola sends her good morning greetings, where the suking online seller posts her stocks, and where relatives abroad share their photos.
